Parc de l'Impératrice (The park of the Empress ) is a wonderful green space that slopes gently down to the right side of Lake Geneva. It's located next to the Botanical Garden, on the territory of the commune of Pregny-Chambésy. One of my favourite places to read books, think about life and future projects. Every Saturday morning I'm training my running abilities exactly passing this place.
Short history: park belonged to Josephine de Beauharnais, first wife of Napoleon I, and to his daughter Hortense de Beauharnais, mother of Napoleon III.
In the park, you can find rare fruit trees and in the good weather also for sure you will enjoy a stunning view to Mont Blanc. Place also hosts the Château des Penthes, the Museum of the Swiss Abroad. Nice to visit if you would like to learn some nice stories about Swiss travelling abroad.
For sure it is one of the most beautiful places to spend your afternoon with a book, just have a shortwalk or having a brunch on Sunday midday.
